On Tap At NAB New York

Hardly a day goes by without news of rising computer and hardware costs. The data center revolution is impacting every corner of the technology industry, and those price increases will be a major topic of discussion at this year’s NAB Show New York. Many organizations are experiencing hardware cost increases exceeding 150%, and some industry experts believe the trend could continue through 2027.

As one of the final major trade shows of the year, NAB New York is expected to be filled with conversations about navigating these challenges while continuing to innovate and grow.

This year’s event theme, “The East Coast Media Innovation Marketplace,” is especially fitting. It arrives at a time when media organizations are focused on generating new revenue streams while managing rising infrastructure costs. It is also CAPEX planning season, with consolidation, operational efficiency, and AI driving many investment decisions.

The challenge facing broadcasters today is not simply adapting but innovating. Whether the focus is hardware, artificial intelligence, virtualized environments, or cloud-based workflows, each area is feeling the effects of growing demand driven by the expansion of data centers.

Enhancing Master Control with AI

As we prepare for NAB New York, Crispin will spotlight innovation through our award-winning FASTWheel solution.

FASTWheel represents a new approach to automated news production. Moving beyond traditional master control automation, this AI-powered news wheel enables producers to focus on content creation while AI automatically assembles and produces a newscast for FAST channels and similar platforms.

FASTWheel creates new revenue opportunities by repurposing news content sourced from dynamic websites and RSS feeds. Working with the customer, Crispin develops customized templates that allow AI to read text, verify information, prioritize stories, and prepare content for air.

You could say that autopilot has arrived in the newsroom, delivering both operational efficiency and revenue generation.

We will also showcase the latest AI enhancements for our traditional master control automation platform.

Built-In Problem Resolution

Crispin’s product suite has evolved beyond a collection of standalone applications into a fully integrated ecosystem designed to help broadcasters not only identify operational issues but resolve them quickly and efficiently.

At the center of this ecosystem is Crispin’s CORE, which has become the backbone that connects and empowers the entire platform. Embedded across multiple CORE applications, webRPX provides operators with a seamless path from issue identification to resolution, eliminating the need to navigate between disconnected systems.

Tools such as List Assist and Dashboard work to proactively detect potential problems before they impact an on-air event, giving operators the visibility they need to address errors before they become disruptions. By surfacing actionable insights in advance, CORE enables teams to move from reactive troubleshooting to proactive operational management.

List Assist

Our new List Assist feature provides an intelligent layer of playlist validation. Using AI, it compares day-to-day traffic lists to identify uncommon errors such as unexpected segment additions, incorrect source, break duration or other anomalies that may be difficult to detect during routine reviews.

Think of it as an extra set of eyes that helps keep playlists accurate, protects content integrity, and safeguards revenue.

CORE Dashboard

Another key innovation is the CORE monitoring Dashboard.  Architected to support single-site and multisite operations through a unified dashboard.

Dashboard reports status and identifies anomalies across back-end services, playlists errors, clock deviations and more. Rather than simply flagging issues such as missing content, the CORE ecosystem provides embedded tools to correct the issue directly within Dashboard, as you would under normal operations.
