Another successful Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Show is in the books. The 2026 event in Austin provided an excellent opportunity to connect with clients and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the broadcast industry.
A consistent theme throughout this year’s conversations was the need to improve operational efficiency while managing costs. Topics such as Shared Services, Cloud solutions, and AI were at the forefront, with each organization evaluating these technologies based on its unique operational requirements.
For Shared Services, Crispin continues to expand automation capabilities that enable multiple stations to share master control operations, whether across a small station group, a statewide network, or a national operation. These solutions are already supporting several clients and are further enhanced by our latest innovations, including the AI-powered List Assist and Monitoring Dashboard, both part of the CORE product suite.
Cloud deployment also generated significant discussion. While Crispin offers cloud-based solutions, cloud infrastructure costs remain largely outside our control. Feedback from many broadcasters, particularly in smaller markets, indicates that ongoing cloud expenses have exceeded expectations. Although cloud remains a viable option, organizations are increasingly evaluating its long-term cost implications.
AI-driven revenue generation was another major focus. Crispin’s Fastwheel solution continues to gain momentum as an automated 24/7 FAST channel platform requiring little to no producer intervention. Clients emphasized the importance of allowing producers to concentrate on content creation rather than channel programming, and Fastwheel helps make that possible.
Looking ahead, Crispin will be exhibiting at NAB Show New York at the Javits Center on October 21-22, followed by the SMPTE Technology Show in Orlando on December 2-3.
Thank you to everyone who visited us at TAB. We appreciate the opportunity to connect and look forward to seeing you again next year.
