Crispin Master Control Automation

Sarah Doss | Software Developer

Software Developer, Sarah Doss, has always had a passion for working with computers, though it wasn’t the original career path she chose. While she initially graduated from UVA with a degree in Biology and spent her days working in labs, computer science was always there in the back of her mind.

“From a young age, I’d always enjoyed playing around with computers and software, learning simple HTML and CSS. Working in a lab wasn’t right for me, and eventually, I started to think more seriously about pursuing a new career. I felt so much happier making the switch to computer science,” she explains.

Once Sarah graduated from Oregon State with a degree in Computer Science, she joined the Crispin team and officially embarked on her new career. In her role as a Software Developer, she spends her days implementing new features, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with her fellow developers on our suite of products.

She goes on to say, “It’s very satisfying to go through the process of laying out a feature and breaking it down step by step. I love seeing my solutions in action. I feel this role is a great fit for me because it really kindles that passion for problem-solving.”

Originally from Danville, VA, Sarah moved to Raleigh in 2019, where she spends her free time taking care of her cat, Ozzy, playing video games, exploring nature trails, and drawing. In particular, she enjoys creating abstract art, character art, and renditions of pets.

An animal lover, Sarah is particularly passionate about birds, and she enjoys watching and feeding them. One of her proudest accomplishments is rescuing an injured starling, nursing it back to health, and finding a home for it. “I’ve always been interested in ornithology, and it was really rewarding to use that knowledge to help a bird in need,” she says.
