Romir Seth | Software Engineer
Software Engineer, Romir Seth, has a passion for greatness that is the driving factor behind everything he does. It’s this desire to continually learn that makes him a great programmer. He says, “Software development is something I’ve always been interested in and it’s something I’ve been doing for years.”
He started out developing video games as a hobby, and from there he quickly realized he wanted to pursue programming professionally. During college at NC State, Romir was the production manager for the campus’s radio station, where he started to learn more about the broadcasting industry. After graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, bringing his skill set to Crispin seemed like a natural fit.
“I really enjoyed learning the mechanics of broadcasting software during my time at NC State. When I heard about this position at Crispin, I saw it as an opportunity to continue learning and to bring new ideas to the table based on my past experience. The Crispin software is really powerful and I’m excited to be working on it,” he says.
Undoubtedly, part of Romir’s passion for software development comes from his dad. “I was born in India and my family immigrated to the U.S. when I was one because of a job opportunity. My dad, who is also a software developer, taught me the basics, which fueled my interest in programming as a hobby and then eventually a career,” he explains.
When he’s not working, Romir enjoys heading to the mountains to hike with his Siberian Husky, Layla, playing basketball, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs and New England Patriots. And, of course, he still tries to make time for video game development, where he gets to incorporate some of his other hobbies as well.
He says, “Aside from programming, I also enjoy writing screenplays and creating music. I have a Minor in Creative Writing and write my songs on my electric guitar, where my influences come from Blues, Metal, Grunge and Rock. Getting to combine all of those interests into my games by writing complex storylines and adding my own music is really fun. In the facets of programming, writing and music composition, I’m always striving for mastery in my craft.”
Romir celebrated his 1st Anniversary with Crispin on October 11, 2022.
