Sara-DeVaneySara DeVaney wears many hats in her role as Crispin’s Director of Strategic Development. From planning trade show details to working as the marketing liaison, no workday is ever the same. She also serves on the company’s Board of Directors, and handles the day-to-day business office duties. Sara says, “I do a little bit of everything, which is part of what I love about this job. Every day is exciting and different.”

North Carolina born and raised, Sara grew up in Charlotte and attended college in Greensboro, where she started her career in the radio broadcasting industry. In May 2013, she moved to Raleigh to join the Crispin team. Coming from a large corporate company to the small, more intimate atmosphere at Crispin has been a welcome change. “The whole company is really like one big family. We’re a strong team, and I’m proud of everything we’re able to accomplish with a small group of people,” she said.

Around the office, Sara is known as the unofficial Crispin party planner and her colleagues often come to her with fun ideas for team building activities. Whether they’re grilling out on the company’s patio or going on an outing to a Durham Bulls game, it’s clear that the Crispin team is more than just a group of coworkers.

Crispin considers their customers to be part of their family atmosphere as well. Sara’s favorite part of the job is getting to attend the yearly National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show, where she gets to have face-to-face time with customers. “It’s so great to have the opportunity to strengthen client relationships that have been primarily built over the phone or through email.”

When she’s not working, Sara enjoys being active, working out or spending time with family and friends, especially her two nephews and niece. When time permits, Sara and her boyfriend, Mike, enjoy traveling to new places and love trying new restaurants. She also likes listening to live music whenever she can, whether it’s a local band or a traveling headliner in town.

Since moving to Raleigh, Sara has been enjoying spending time outside and soaking up the sunshine. She says, “There’s always something fun going on in Raleigh, from festivals and live shows to food truck rodeos. At the end of the day though, it doesn’t really matter where you are. If you have good people around you, you can have fun doing anything.”
