After graduating from East Carolina University (ECU) in December 2018, Software Engineer, Seaver Thorn, was excited to jump right into the workforce. When he saw an opportunity available at Crispin, it seemed like the perfect place to start his career.
He says, “It was exactly what I was looking for coming out of school. I love the small environment here and I can’t think of a better place to begin my programming career.”
While at ECU, Seaver worked in a campus research lab and the writing center, helping fellow students write papers. In a way, his new position will continue his efforts to help people, as he’ll be writing code and documentation for Crispin’s customers.
“I’m fascinated by the broadcasting industry. There’s so much happening behind the scenes and it’s exciting to be an integral part of making it all work together for our customers,” he says.
Originally from Cary NC, Seaver knew he wanted to return to the Raleigh area after graduation. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, particularly non-fiction, in a variety of topics like politics, sociology and criminal justice. When it comes to movies, he likes a little bit of everything, but his favorite genre is horror.
On the weekends, you can find him going out to eat or to the movies with his core group of friends that he met while at ECU. “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized the importance of close friendships. It’s great having a solid group of friends to spend time with, even as we’ve all gotten busier after graduation,” says Seaver.
