Raleigh, NC. - July 23, 2001 - Crispin Corporation, a
leading provider of broadcast automation systems, today reported
record revenues ending their fiscal year on June 30, 2001. A privately
owned company based in Raleigh, NC, Crispin reported 31% increase in
revenue versus the prior year, despite a down industry economy.
Crispin has also had a 30% increase in staff from the prior year
and plans to add additional support and sales staff in the current
fiscal year. Crispin also added an additional 2000 square feet of
office space this year.
"The new structure, strategies and unique systems we've been
putting into place over the past year paid off well in our fiscal
year," explained Crispin's President and co-owner Alan DeVaney.
"We benefited from our move to total automation and
centralization systems. We're adding one new Ôon-air' customer per
week and have since we started four years ago."
"I am very pleased by our 31% revenue growth over the prior
year" commented DeVaney. "We achieved this growth despite
the fact that many stations are holding off expenditures until 2002.
With the hire of a General Manager that has extensive station
management and operations experience, development of a traffic system,
and other unique systems, and the commitments we have already from
stations between now and end of our fiscal 2002, we expect to more
than double in size and revenues! In fact, we've had a record July to
start the new fiscal year and still have 10 days to go in the month.
We're an extremely stable company and have the resources to carry us
another 2 years even if we don't get another order!Énot many
companies can say that!"
"We have been developing software modules at a rapid
pace", added Crispin's Vice-President and co-owner Carlos Cela.
"Currently we have developed and placed over 65 different modules
in TV stations around the world. Key new products were introduced over
the past year such as ÔNewsPlayX'; our MOS interface solution for
News playback systems. We are rapidly closing the gap on software
modules needed to automate the newsroom environment. We completed
interfaces to all the major Video Server manufacturers, master control
switchers, routers, tape machines, character generators and other
common devices that are used in totally automating a facility.
Scheduled for release in August will be our DVD archive solution and
later in September we should have our Low Resolution Server integrated
into our systems. The Low Res server will allow for viewing of any
video material across our Local Area network using our Web Based
database and Internet Explorer."
