CRISPIN Offers Turnkey System for GVG's M-Series iVDR!
Raleigh, NC - April 7, 2003- Crispin Corporation is pleased
to announce a turnkey automation system bundled with the new Grass
Valley™ M-Series™ iVDR intelligent video digital recorder from
Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions.
The Crispin/M-Series iVDR Bundle provides a reliable broadcast
solution designed to replace the mechanical video tape recorders (VTRs)
used today in all broadcast facilities. "The new M-Series iVDR
meets a strong demand for a high quality, affordable, VTR-like device
", commented Crispin's President, Alan DeVaney. "Crispin is
excited about the opportunity to bundle Crispin software packages
along with the M-Series iVDR for cost sensitive applications such as
News, Commercial Insertion, Program acquisition and playback, Net
Delay, Public Access, and more! There are multiple possibilities and
all at never seen before prices!"
The M-Series iVDR combines the operational characteristics of a
server, the usability and control characteristics of a tape machine,
and the plug-and-play networking of a PC. It has cross-facility
applicability-from general VTR applications to specialized tasks such
as recording and playing back syndicated programming.
Designed as a complement to the Emmy® award-winning Profile® line
of digital video platforms, the M-Series iVDR can be used in broadcast
studios and newsrooms mobile production trucks, fixed-venue facilities
such as sports arenas, and corporate and governmental video production
facilities. Crispin's System 2000 and 3000 will easily incorporate the
M-Series iVDR system for automation of play-to-air, news playback,
program or commercial record…whatever your needs may be.
Crispin's Dubber will enable media portability and ingest into the
M-Series iVDR system, which features removable optical media and an
architecture that can accommodate any media drive in a standard-sized
bay. Satellite feed recording, for example, is far more efficient with
an M-Series iVDR than with a tape deck. Its touch-screen interface
lets users monitor feeds, select video clips, and prepare play lists
of those clips for playback under the control of Crispin's System
2000/3000, while continuing to record.
Sports, news, and live-event television production is similarly
streamlined using an M-Series iVDR and Crispin Automation. The system
can record on-field action for playback-or house hundreds of
background video clips for instant recall during a live broadcast.
Government, corporate, and institutional media centers have many of
the same needs as broadcast facilities. In these settings, the Crispin/M-Series
iVDR bundle can play back a CEO's or college president's speech as
easily as it can distribute programming through a private cable or
satellite broadcast system.
In all these production workflows, the familiar, VTR-like design of
the M-Series iVDR touch-screen interface minimizes training. Crispin's
applications are user-friendly and easy to learn. Crispin's superior
support and engineering staff works with your staff and Thomson
Broadcast & Media Solutions to get you up and running quick. The
system's digital design reduces maintenance and storage costs
dramatically compared to tape-based systems. And due to the unmatched
relationships between Thomson Broadcast & Media Solutions and
Crispin Corporation, it offers a broad array of applications.
See Crispin at NAB 2003 for details on the bundled packages- Booth
