KTVU Buys Crispin for News Playback Automation
Raleigh, NC - September, 2000 -
Crispin, a leading provider of automation solutions for broadcast
facilities worldwide, has won the contract for News Playback
automation from KTVU, Oakland, CA.
KTVU will be controlling the GVG XP PVS1026 Video Server to output
four channel news outputs on their traditional analog KTVU and
simulcasting two-channel outputs in their digital channel KICU.
Crispin's RapidPlayX with TurboBrowser will be used to control the
news playback on both stations. Trimming, Searching, Editing and
Copying capabilities for the system will be handled by Crispin's
ClipPanel software to the GVB via Fibre Channel. The Crispin Serial
Mapper software will interface to AvStar to create a playlist and
Crispin's SmartWSEdge will allow GPI input and output control of the
playlist and playback. The SmartWedge hardware features 12 user
programmable opto-isolated GPI inputs and 12 outputs. RapidPlayX
allows for the mirroring of the video servers for linking the two
channels and backup. The GVG will be controlled over a LAN with two
seperate RapidPlayX workstations.
Crispin's software modules can be combined in many different
configurations for single or multi-channel operation...offering custom
software type flexibility with off the shelf pricing and support.
