Crispin's ArchiveManager
manages the storage of digital programs on a mix of
RAID drives and DVD RAM cartridges for long-term storage.
All archived material can be readily available for airing
and dubbing. ArchiveManager is the only affordable system
that's integrated with automation, and consequently,
does not require "middle-ware" to manage the
actual archive volumes. This feature simplifies the
management and maintenance of the system which is important
to small-market television stations.
ArchiveManager is available as a stand-alone unit with
dual internal Blu-ray drives, or may be combined with
external nearline redundant arrays of inexpensive disks
(RAID), robotic libraries or network attached storage
(NAS) systems. The Archive graphic user interface (GUI)
provides a clear view of video server and archive content
for quick drag and drop asset transfers. The GUI clearly
shows media object detail as well as transfer requests
and status messages.
There is no third-party software required to fully integrate
ArchiveManager with most video servers or storage systems.
It may be run independently or be fully integrated with
Crispin’s total automation system. ArchiveManager provides
a compact, economical way of extending
the storage of on-air video servers and protecting valuable
assets.
The system is scalable in choice of functionality and
storage media. Standard storage includes two Blu-ray
drives or DVD-RAM drives. An integrated database allows
fast lookup of assets and supports volume export for
optical disk libraries. The system will prompt for insertion
of the needed media and automatically restore the native
format file back to the video server for play-to-air.
