CRISPIN ANNOUNCES SMART PACKAGED AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS.
New Crispin ‘Shout Out’ products help broadcasters meet challenging economic times
DURHAM, N.C. – March 23,
2008
Professional broadcasters know better than anyone that these are challenging economic times. After all, their newsrooms provide critical financial information to viewers around the clock. And, like most industries, broadcasters are feeling their own financial pinch.
Crispin Corporation, a leading provider of broadcast automation software, equipment and support, is tuned in to the industry’s needs and concerns. And its response in 2009 is loud and clear: Shout Out, a complete range of out-of-the-box newsroom and traffic automation solutions that help facilities large and small to streamline their operations, maximize staff productivity and stay on budget.
Newsrooms that have always wanted to take advantage of Crispin’s powerful technology like NewsCat Pro and BFX Service can now do so thanks to Shout Out’s unbeatable savings. And existing Crispin customers who have been waiting to purchase additional, must-have solutions like Studio Control and Supervisory View can now take advantage of this unprecedented Shout Out offer.
Alan DeVaney, President Crispin Corporation says, “while Crispin’s automation solutions are now more affordable than ever, its goal for your broadcast business remains unchanged: easy-to-install, easy-to-use technology that integrates perfectly for every size operation. And, as always, Crispin has stayed focused on supporting this new initiative with the highest level of personalized sales, service and support in the industry”.
Here’s a closer look at Shout Out’s affordable, powerful automation solutions, which will be featured at April’s NAB Show 2009 in Las Vegas.
- NewsCat Pro: $12,500. Crispin’s integrated news cataloguing and archiving solution enables the news department to store, index and quickly retrieve news stories aired from a video server. NewsCat Pro is designed for those live news organizations that play content from a video server but are still archiving their news clips to tape. NewsCat Pro not only stores video clips, it organizes and manages the content and relates it to the original newsroom computer system story text so you can find what you need, when you need it.
- BXFService: $9,995. Provides a fully automated and dynamic interface between the station’s traffic system and Crispin automation. BXF Service automatically processes multi-channel playlist, dub lists, purge lists, and record schedules from traffic without the operator having to transfer files or run translation utilities. BXF Service also sends As Run and media updates to traffic in real-time, providing the traffic system a live and up-to-date status of what has aired and the assets operations and engineering has on hand.
- StudioControl: $4,995. A new way of operating live events for Crispin automation customers. StudioControl gives the news or sports studio a utility for viewing the running playlist and rolling breaks. By providing a tailored view of the playlist, StudioControl lets technical directors quickly see whether the break is ready to roll, which content fills the break, and also trigger the break to roll. Large heads-up displays of the event and break countdown make it easy to see when the break will complete and return to live news or sports.
- SupervisoryView: $4,995. A tool for monitoring multi-channel operations running Crispin automation. SupervisoryView includes an intuitive graphical timeline of 90 minutes or more of each channel’s playlist. With simple icons and displays, supervisors can quickly see the status of all channels. SupervisoryView provides intuitive alerts and countdown clocks that help the supervisor anticipate when a scheduled event will air that requires attention by the operator. SupervisoryView alerts can be tuned with precision, preventing both false alarms and alarms that are no longer actionable because they come too late.
