CRISPIN
FREE SOFTWARE OFFER BREAKS NEW GROUND
Announces first-of-its-kind, MediaNav initiative
DURHAM, N.C. – March
4, 2008
Crispin Corporation, a leading worldwide provider
of broadcast automation software, equipment and
support, has taken an unprecedented step as it
prepares to launch its latest product, MediaNav.
The company is offering the media management software
- a powerful and sophisticated module valued at
more than $2,000 – free of charge through an exclusive,
pre-release offer.
MediaNav, a fully functional, stand-alone software
package that provides professional control to
manage a client’s Omneon video server, is currently
in its final Beta testing stages, with an expected
launch date leading up to summer 2008. But customers
who sign up for MediaNav online (www.crispincorp.com)
will be first in line to receive the software
free of charge.
Rodney Mood, Crispin’s Chief Operations Officer,
says “the groundbreaking software initiative is
the best way to highlight how the company’s vast
range of Broadcast Automation, Newsroom Automation
and Media Asset Management software products organically
fit into a client’s infrastructure and workflow”.
“As complicated as broadcasters' operations can
be, often what they need is just a simple yet
powerful tool,” says Alan DeVaney, President,
who oversees Crispin’s product and process development
cycles. “MediaNav is just that. It's a powerful
utility in a small package that let's you perform
key common media management functions for your
Omneon server.”
MediaNav allows broadcasters to browse the contents
of the server for clips, as well as view key server
statistics such as free space, used space and
number of clips. Users can search, sort, rename,
delete and copy clips from one folder to another
or even to another Omneon server. MediaNav features
an intuitive graphical user interface, as well
as easy click, drag-and-drop functions and simple
configuration.
“Best of all,” adds DeVaney, “it's free!”
While MediaNav is designed specifically to work
with Omneon video servers, Crispin will develop
the software for other servers given sufficient
demand. Crispin also anticipates to develop and
sell extended functionality and PRO pack options
in the future..
