Crispin celebrates 10th year of operation.
Crispin appoints Projects Manager, Internal Sales
Manager. Crispin unveils new, no-fee 24/7 support
plan, Crispin 4 Life. Crispin teams up with technology
partners to increase product integration.
Crispin announces record revenue growth of 28%
in fiscal 2005. In addition, the company reports
strong growth in its recently released news automation
products. Crispin unveils Crispin 4 Life, a new
no annual fee support plan which covers all current
and future customers with 24/7 technical support
for up to seven years. Crispin reveals new technology
partner initiatives: Crispin enters into a partnership
with Rhozet Corporation to provide media transcoding
support for Crispin's line of broadcast automation
tools; Crispin develops Advanced Media Protocol
(AMP) control for the Grass Valley K2 server;
Crispin integrates ArchiveManager with the new
Omneon MediaGrid active storage system; Crispin
creates a series of pre-configured entry-level
equipment packages for small-to-mid-sized broadcasters
that combine Crispin's RapidPlayX software with
the entire family of Grass Valley broadcast servers.
Crispin announces the appointment of Peter Bombar
as Projects Manager and Jill Walters as Internal
Sales Manager.
2005
WGBA-TV, WFTS-TV, Free Speech TV and City of Torrance
select Crispin for automation solutions. Crispin
appoints Chief Technology Officer, Business Development
Director.
Liberty Corporation enhances its station group
with Crispin's DTV PSIP interface. Crispin’s System
2000 provides total automation solutions for WGBA-TV,
Green Bay, WI; WFTS-TV, Tampa, FL; Free Speech
TV, Boulder, CO and City of Torrance, Torrance,
CA. Crispin unveils new product enhancements:
Crispin enhances Supervisory View for RapidPlayX.
It enables operators to see the status of multiple
channels on a single screen. Rather than entire
playlists, Supervisory View provides the status
of each channel, with visual notification of messages,
warnings and operator intervention requests. With
Supervisory View, the operator is free to do other
tasks in the facility, automation alerts them
when they're needed, greatly reducing on-air problems.
Crispin launches a new brand advertising campaign,
showcasing Crispin’s commitment to service and
support after the sale, modular solutions that
offer flexibility for future growth and a feature
set that helps broadcasters meet the rigorous
demands of their workflow. Crispin announces the
appointment of Rodney Mood as Chief Technology
Officer and Bob Valinski as Director of Business
Development.
2004
WRAL-TV, KTNV-TV and WDBJ-TV select Crsipin for
automation solutions. Crispin appoints CEO.
WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC expands coverage with
the launch of a 24-hour local news operation on
its SD multicast channel using Crispin news automation
solutions. Crispin supplies WXYZ-TV in Detroit
with NewsPlayX software. KTNV-TV, Las Vegas and
WDBJ-TV, Roanoke, VA selects Crispin's System
2000 product suite. Crispin and LINX Electronics,
Inc. joined forces to be the first in the broadcast
industry to provide an automated real-time DTV
PSIP solution. Crispin unveils new product enhancements:
Near Line archive and PDD capability are added
to ArchiveManager, Crispin adds "Catch Server"
management, Crispin’s LoRez server adds Slate
Capture capability, Crispin adds a high-level
supervisory view to RapidPlayX2000. Crispin announces
the appointment of Dave Neal as chief executive
officer. His appointment allows Crispin founder
Alan DeVaney, who retains the title of president,
to focus more time on product development and
customer service and support.
2003
Crispin introduces LoRez Video Server, RapidPrep
and totally automated News Wheel.
Crispin introduces two new modular solutions:
LoRez Video Server and RapidPrep. Crispin supplies
WBNS in Ohio with News Wheel software for total
hands free operations. WBRC in Birmingham, AL,
KLRU in Austin, TX, and WTTG in Washington DC
replace existing automation system with Crispin's
System 2000 product suite. KNXV in Phoenix selects
Crispin for News Playback solutions. Cosmos Broadcasting
adds Crispin's PSIP interface for all stations
in the group. QVC and NBC and CNBC expand their
systems with Crispin solutions. And Crispin's
first customer, WFLD in Chicago, upgrades to Crispin's
System 2000 product suite.
2002
USA Networks, C-Span and National Geographic select
Crispin for automation solutions.
CSPAN, KTTV in Los Angles, and KRIV in Houston,
TX implement broadcast automation solutions using
Crispin's' System 2000 product suite. USA Networks
selects Crispin to automate programming for the
US Open Tennis Tournament and National Geographic
Channel and WEW in Cleveland, Ohio select Crispin
for News Playback solutions. The University of
Alabama automates WJRD-TV using Crispin solutions
and the University of Southern California expands
their automation systems to include Video Kiosk
software from Crispin.
2001
Crispin develops Crispin Archive Manager and introduces
MOS News Playback solution.
Crispin begins development on Crispin Archive
Manager. KSHB of Kansas City, MO, CNBC, WTVD (ABC
O/O) in Durham, NC and WXYZ in Detroit implement
automation with Crispin's System 2000 product
suite. NBA Entertainment expands their Crispin
System to include management of downlink recordings
of all games. Cleveland Television Network, KAMU:
Texas A & M University, C-Span, WRAZ of Durham,
NC, University of Southern California, QVC, KOZK
in Springfield MO select Crispin for automation
solutions. WRAL of Raleigh, NC selects Crispin
to automate their Digital News Channel and Crispin
supplies Interface to ASACA and JVC DVD Juke Boxes.
WIS in Columbia, SC selects Crispin for News Playback
where Crispin also introduces its first MOS News
Playback solution.
2000
Demand for Crispin's System 2000 product suite
exceeds expectations.
Demand for Crispin's System 2000 product suite
exceeds expectation as WCYB in Bristol VA selects
System 2000 for multi-station control and Jefferson
Pilot uses System 2000 to implement total automation
within their Richmond, Charlotte and Charleston
stations. All Cosmos stations upgrade their automation
systems with Crispin's System 2000 and WTHR of
Indianapolis and WAOE of Peoria IL go on air with
serial numbers 1 and 2 of System 2000. KTVK Spanish
News Channel selects Crispin for playback control
for news and FloriCal buys Crispin's Dubber module
to meet the needs of Antenna Latina. WLS Chicago,
KUHT in Houston, TX and WXYZ in Detroit select
Crispin for automation solutions. CBS adds additional
playout room creating a total of 10 playout rooms
under Crispin control.
1999
Crispin develops System 2000 product suite.
Crispin begins developing the System 2000 product
suite and adds Avid "AvStar" and NewStar interfaces
to News Playback solutions. NBA Entertainment,
Turner Entertainment, WNBC of NY, KTLA of Los
Angeles and WRC of Washington DC select Crispin
to implement automation solutions. Cosmos Broadcasting
selects Crispin to install automation systems
at KPLC, WIS and WFIE. KYW and WXYZ in Philadelphia
select Crispin for News Playback and NBC Network
selects Crispin for Commercial playback for all
live studio events. KSDK of St Louis selects Crispin
and GVG's new XP ProFile and serves as a beta
test site for XP ProFile. Crispin now provides
News Playback solution for SGI video servers.
1998
CBS selects Crispin for commercial playback control
for all Sports events.
Crispin moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Raleigh,
North Carolina. Crispin introduces a complete
commercial / Spot Playback solution by adding
"Dubber," "AsRun," and Sony Betacart Barcode reader.
The company also introduces "ClipCop" and "ClipPanel"
and an interface to the Avid News Room system
for RapidPlayX. Tektronix and Crispin announce
a special " Crispac" offering of Crispin software
modules with every Tek ProFile. CBS in NY selects
Crispin for commercial playback control for 8
simultaneous playback rooms for all sporting events.
WRTV of Indianapolis goes on air with the first
Spot Playback package created by Crispin and KPRC
of Houston TX implements Crispin's first packaged
software system. WTIC of Hartford CT selects Crispin
for Multi station control and KPIX of San Francisco
uses RapidPlayX for News Playback for Olympics.
Numerous stations select Crispin for automation
solutions including: KNBC Los Angles, WCVB Boston,
WNYW in NY, KDAF Dallas and WGN of Chicago. Entertainment
Tonight selects Crispin for all playback solutions.
1997
Crispin Corporation was formed in Phoenix, Arizona.
Crispin Corporation is formed to meet an increasing
demand for modular solutions within the broadcast
automation industry. Formed in Phoenix, Arizona
in 1997, Crispin introduces "Mapper" and begins
development on "RapidPlayX", the multi channel
version of RapidPlay, Crispin's first product
designed to control video servers over TCP/IP.
Crispin releases "RapidPlay" and "SmartWedge "
to KPNX of Phoenix and installs RapidPlayX at
KRIV in Houston, TX for use in all news playback
and commercial playback. WFLD of Chicago purchases
and uses the first RapidPlay module.
