Crispin’s Digital Transfer Agent (DTA) provides the missing link between catch servers and fully-automated, on-air presentation. DG Systems, FastChannel, MediaDVX and Vyvx have greatly simplified the way broadcasters receive commercial content.

Utilizing DTA, Crispin provides a seamless solution to automatically move commercials to a video server and prepare them for air.

DTA periodically reviews catch server content for new programs and populates the DTA view with low-resolution clips that operators can view to verify the correct commercial material. Metadata is simultaneously retrieved and stored. DTA either automatically issues (or the operator manually selects) commercials to be transcoded and transferred to the play-to-air video server. The required programs now reside on the video server, assembled and complete with program segment timing data in Crispin automation, ready for play-to-air. Personnel may generate media status reports to compare record orders with the programs that have been imported. Crispin’s Dubber (manual media acquisition tool) may be used to QC and verify program timings if necessary.

Combining Crispin’s DTA with catch servers does much more than streamline workfl ow. It eliminates the need for manual tasks in the program acquisition process. No dubbing or segmenting of programs will be required for any catch server-delivered content. The digital transfer of programs from supplier to fully-automated on-air presentation is complete.
