Ed Molina | Director of Software Development

“The thing I like the most about Crispin is the relaxed environment and the variety of work. The people are great and the work is really interesting,” says Ed Molina, Director of Software Development.

“Because of the way we’re structured, I get to work on a lot of different technologies and I’m exposed to all kinds of challenges. I find that much more fulfilling than working on the same thing day after day.”

Prior to joining Crispin in 2001, Ed was employed at TotalSports where he wrote software that captured and managed live sport statistics online.

On a typical workday, Ed starts his morning with a status check on product development schedules to make sure his team has what it needs to be productive. Then, he responds to any open customer issues. “I also fix bugs and do quite a bit of coding myself. I do a little bit of everything, and that’s what keeps it fun,” says Ed.

Over the past year, much of Ed’s focus has been on LoadingDock, a new Crispin product that allows users to upload content, preview clips and mark video clips.

He’s also been working on enhancing the functionality and scalability of an existing product called Supervisory View, which may get renamed in the future.

Originally from the New Orleans area, he’s a Saints fan and a fan of the LSU Tigers, the school where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. When he’s not at work, Ed enjoys spending time with his wife, his 6-year-old daughter, Ella, and his 8-year-old son, Milo.

“I spend a lot of my time playing tea party with Ella and playing video games with Milo. And many of our afternoons are spent at the neighborhood pool,” he said. “When I have some spare time, I am around the house building window boxes, tending to my pepper plants or coming up with ideas on how to get rid of deer from my yard.”
